The initial nucleus of the museum library derives from the library of the Société de la Flore Valdôtaine, established in the 1970s. Following the founding of the Regional Natural Science Museum, the purchase of numerous scientific monographs relating to various fields of natural sciences also began, and the exchange and acquisition of scientific and educational journals intensified.
The library now has over 4,000 volumes. These include naturalistic texts of both an educational and scientific nature and scientific or information periodicals published by universities, scientific and environmental associations, and Italian and foreign museums, mainly in exchange for the Revue Valdôtaine d’Histoire Naturelle, published by the Société de la Flore.
The volumes can be consulted, subject to reservation, at the operational site in La Salle.
Thanks to painstaking cataloguing and digitalisation work, the book heritage can be consulted on the digital database.
